Felted Bag Ladies

Janie Buckman and Judi Smith are the knitters behind The Felted Bag Ladies. Janie has a home in Ocean Shores, Washington and Judi lives at Beckett Point, south of Port Townsend Washington.

They came from a knitting family. Their grandmother knitted and their mother was a superior knitter who made wonderful dresses and Norwegian sweaters. She tried getting her daughters to knit at an early age, but they didn’t take to it.  Then a few years before she passed away, both daughters took up knitting without each other knowing about it. Neither of the daughters feels as accomplished at knitting as their grandmother but they knew she was proud of them for getting started.

Janie and Judi began making scarves and baby hats. Then they branched out and have added felted wool bags to their collection. Making these items have kept them busy since they both retired from education. Their items are for sale in gift shops in Ocean Shores, Olympia and Leavenworth, Washington besides those in the gift boxes from Mystery Bay Shipping.
