For hundreds of years the Elwha Nation has harvested salmon as a food source. In the early days food storage for cold winters was required for survival. The time honored tradition of curing fish by smoke was used to meet this need and continues on. We here at Olympic Coast Seafoods/Elwha Fish Co. are continuing the products and traditions that were the staple of Hegg & Hegg Smoked Salmon for over 50 years. We take great pride in producing these Northwest delicacies and we want you and your family and friends to be able to enjoy them!
We hand select the best Chinook (King) or Coho (Silver) Salmon, Halibut, Dungeness Crab, Live Oysters and Steamer Clams and then alder smoke them to perfection by our secret, traditional process: a soft, tender smoke that retains all of the delicate texture of fresh salmon plus the distinctive flavor of rich Alder smoke.
